Upon arrival at the job site the crew will begin to protect the landscape and the home or building by using tarps and moving patio furniture to a safe place. We also reduce the amount of debris from the tearing off of the existing roof by getting as much into the dumpster as possible directly from the roof. The less that falls on the ground the less wear and tear on the property and the less we have to pick up and handle twice.

Once we have a good look at the wood decking on your home we will re-nail the deck as needed. We will also replace any rotten or damaged wood. This is important and must be done to insure a solid roof foundation. Our contract will specify exactly how much the cost of wood replacement will be. The next step in the process will be to install the ice and water gaurd and felt paper. Ice and water guard is installed at the gutter edge and up from the gutter at least 3 feet. On some homes where ice is a problem, we will install ice guard 6-9 feet above the gutter and in some cases, it will be installed on the entire section. Again, our estimate will spell this out very plainly. Next, the ice guard will be installed in the valleys, along walls and around the chimneys and skylights. Keep in mind, like every step in the roofing process there's a right way and a wrong way to install ice and water guard. Be sure you have confidence that your contractor will do it right. Finally, heavy weight felt paper will be installed to complete the tear-off and dry-in process. Your roof is now ready for the shingles.
